Yesterday was hot, muggy, and glorious. All of my darling seniors somehow managed to pass their classes, shine up like new pennies and graduate yesterday at the Shell Amphitheatre in Honolulu. Since I had the privilege of teaching 30 of the 39 seniors, it really was an exciting day. Above is one of my kids, Katie, giving her speech as the class of 09's salutatorian. She was eloquent, poised and sweet. Gonna miss that girl!

Although the humidity was high and there was no breeze to be felt, the kids were all smiles. They could barely contain their glee, and giggled and squirmed in their seats.

Here the teachers stood to be honored by our guest speaker, Mayor Mufi Hannemann. (That's me, second from the right)

I am so super proud of each and every one of those rowdy monkeys. The future looks bright and promising for them all! Ho'omaika'i 'Ana!! Congratulations class of 09!!
