Today the sessions ended at noon to allow us some down time to (and I quote) "absorb all of the wonderful knowledge and information presented". Riiight. So instead of doing that, a few of us went hiking around the resort on their trails. Here we are heading off into the wilderness.
From the left, Louie (our brilliant choir teacher, originally from Australia), Jennifer (a crazy English teacher from Canada, eh), Leslie (our fearless math teacher), and Scott (LJA's amazing college counselor).
Along the path, we saw so many of these gorgeous red flowers that seemed to spring up everywhere!
About half-way through the hike, we spotted this ski slope and decided to hike it. Not too sure who in their right mind would decide to hike straight up a hill, but since none of us were in our right mind, we went ahead and did it. (I'm blaming the altitude) The picture doesn't look nearly as steep as it felt - that shadow is Scott, btw.
Once at the top, though, all our burning muscles and lack of breath was worth the view of Lake Tahoe. Sooooo pretty!!
The exhausted Hawaiian crew...

Here's the dreaded path back down. We decided it was more like controlled falling than it was actual walking. Good fun and way better than doing homework and actually thinking. :)
