Since we're on a bit of an exploration kick recently, we decided to head over towards the Makapu'u Lighthouse hike just past Waimanalo. We usually take the paved walk up to the tip-top of the mountain, but today we decided to explore the road less travelled that skirted around instead of up. Here's the view of what we're calling "Pirates Cove". That's kokohead crater at the top right and three ancient Hawaiian fishponds at the bottom right corner.
Here I am at the edge of the cove...waves crashing behind me.
And here's the beautiful azure water that was filled with beautiful parrot fish and iridescent gar fish.
And here is a mini movie to show you exactly why we've named this place Pirates Cove. Walk the plank, argh!
We completely missed this blog first time around. Awesome. Feels like we're right there.
