...not us. Unfortunatly, Will and I didn't win the big Oscar money on Sunday. Luckily, the party was a HUGE hit and everyone had a wonderful time. Will took this shot of me in my curler glory just before the party started. Notice how clean our living room is! We worked our buns off cleaning the mess and chaos that is our house.
Folks mingling in the kitchen. Everybody brought amazing pupus and we ended up with TONS of yummy treats including three huge salads, spanakopita, korean chicken, summer rolls, kalua pig, curry, and tons of beer and wine.
People filled the living/dining room, too, all focused on the fabulous show. Mostly, we laughed at the ridiculous fashion (like Charlize Theron in her bizarre-boobie dress or Jennifer Lopez in her silly bubble-wrap dress) and yelled when lame movies (like the Hurt Locker) won awards.
Here's the pot. We had about twenty friends over...and at $5 a ballot...that pot was not small at all!
And here is Lei who won the big Oscar money with sixteen correct (despite the fact that she hadn't seen any of the movies nominated). Lucky Leilani!
It was a SUPER fun party and we're already looking forward to next year's celebration!!
Although I loved, loved loved the dress on Jennifer L, the dress on Charlize T looked like it had two huge cinnamon buns strategically attached to the top of her dress!
ReplyDeleteDid you know the director of The Hurt Locker is from Will's hometown of San Carlos,CA!! It's also interesting that she was briefly married to the director of Avatar. Small film up against mega million film. Small film slays the dragon. That's a movie in itself!
