...WILL AND GRETA!! Yup, we took home the gold (or green, rather) last night at the first annual Barron/Garbisch Oscar Party! With sixteen correct guesses (out of twenty-four categories), we managed to bring home the big bucks - about $60). Never mind that 16/24 is about 66% (a D+ at best)...we still won!
Yes, this is my evil "We're so RICH" face at the end of the night after winning the loot.
As we set up for the guests to arrive, mom, dad, Will and I discussed our choices - while secretly marking our own official ballots ($5 each as you entered the house). I had done some research earlier that day (gods bless the internets) looking at the oscar buzz along with watching most of the short films on youtube. Some call it cheating...we call it being "educated".

Here's Lei petting (alert and ready to bark) Nakoa. Since we had all placed our bets, the results of each ballot was cacophonous; shrieks of joy, lamentations of utter anguish and guffaws of disgust. It was loud and it was FUN!!
Despite the laughter and noise, Haupia managed to crash out in front of the TV. Poor thing was pooped after all the commotion and playing with Koa and Sassy all evening.
After all was said and done, Slumdog Millionaire came out on top...just like us! Everyone had such a fabulous time, we've decided to make it an annual tradition. Gambling, drinking and merriment - what could be better?!
I totally miss the Oscar parties! I'm glad you won big bucks!
